나는 말레이시아가 중국, 인도, 이슬람과 말레이 전통 문화가 유럽의 영향력과 공존하는 다문화 국가이기 때문에 말레이시아에 항상 관심이 있었다.

I [was always / had always been] interested in Malaysia because it is a multicultural country, [which / where] Chinese, Indian, Islamic, and traditional Malay cultures coexist with European influences.

In addition, we chose Penang as our destination because it is famous [to / for] its street art, something that both my mother and I [is / are] [interested / interested in].

Visitors [wearing / worn] shorts are not allowed [entering / to enter], so I had to borrow a long skirt to get in.

Lastly, we visited Kek Lok Si, the largest Buddhist temple in Malaysia, [locating / located] in a suburb of George Town.

It was terrific to see [how / that] all these different religious temples coexist in the same area.

We also saw some of Penang's famous street art on Armenian Street and more [on / in] nearby Cannon Street.

On the last day of our trip, we visited the Little Penang Street Market, a street market [what / that] [holds / is held] on the last Sunday of each month.

그것이 우리가 거의 1월 말에 이번 여행을 가기로 결정한 이유 중 하나이다.

It was one of the [reason / reasons] [why / how] we decided to take this trip near the end of January.

분위기가 매우 활기차고 신나서 전반적인 행사가 시장이라기보다는 작은 축제처럼 느껴졌다. 부모님은 원숭이 모양의 작은 나무 조각품을 구입하셨다.

The atmosphere was so lively and [exciting / excited] [that / which] the entire event felt more like a small festival than a market. My parents bought a small wooden sculpture of a monkey.

판매자가 그것이 어느 누구보다도 말레이시아에 더 오래 살아오고 있는 주민들인 Orang Asli에 의해 만들어진 전통 예술 작품이라고 설명했다.

The seller explained that it was traditional artwork [making / made] by the Orang Asli, the inhabitants who [lived / have lived] in Malaysia longer than anyone else.

노점에서 점심을 먹은 후에 우리는 공항으로 떠났다.

After [having / had] lunch at a food stall, we [left / left for] the airport.

집으로 오면서, 나는 말레이시아와 한국이 내가 원래 상상했던 것보다 더 많은 공통점을 가지고 있을지도 모른다고 생각했다.

On our way home, I thought that Malaysia and Korea might have more in common than I [originally imagined / had originally imagined].

한국처럼, 말레이시아도 다른 나라에 의해 점령당했지만 이 비극적인 역사를 극복하고 경제적이고 문화적인 발전을 이룩했다.

Like Korea, Malaysia [occupied / was occupied] by other countries but [overcame / overcome] this tragic history to achieve economic and cultural development.

페낭으로의 여행을 다녀오니 앞으로 서울이 어떻게 될지 궁금해졌다.

The trip to Penang makes me [wonder / to wonder] [how / what] Seoul will be like in the future.
