On Saturday I was at the Balwyn East shopping strip in Belmore Rd when my car sustained a puncture - my first in more than 60 years' driving - posing a daunting task for an 80-year-old.
Almost immediately a very good Samaritan came to my rescue and changed the wheel. As he was doing this, I went to buy him a Lotto ticket but when I returned to my car he had gone.
There are still knights in shining armour, however disguised. I'll check the ticket and hope that if it wins a prize there might be some way of getting it to him.
