It is the letter (J) in the definite article (JI) in Arabic, when pronounced

Shams means:

The letter (J) which is written but not pronounced

when reading.

الْبُرُوجِ the lam is :

الْعَزِيزِ الْحَمِيدِ the type of lam is

امُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ the type of lam is

To make the sound of a letter thicker on reading it,

To make the sound of a letter thinner on reading it.
