Ss work in groups of 4. Each group is assigned a different paragraph of an article to read and summarize. In breakout rooms, each group discusses their paragraph to be sure they each understand. They may use dictionaries and should consult with each other until they are clear, and each member can summarize it clearly. During instructions, T explains that each person needs to be able to summarize because they will be in new groups and will be the only one with this information in their new groups. Ss return to Main Session and are reassigned to a new group composed of 1 person from each of the other groups, so now, each group has “the entire article.” Ss sequence and share their summaries. When they return to the Main Session, they check in with other groups to compare answers of sequence and summary. They write test questions for each other to answer.
