Meditation verse for the book of 1 kings chapters 1&2:
In Chapter 1 we learn how King David grow old, and Adonijah planned to become king without his dad’s permission. But Nathan the prophet and Bathsheba told David about Adonijah’s plan. King David gave an order to enthrone Solomon as a king.
In chapter 2 we learn about David's instructions to his son Solomon. After Solomon's kingdom firmly established, Adonijah’s intentions wasn't good and he wanted to marry Abishag the Shunammite who was considered as King David's wife. Solomon had to get rid of him.
In chapter 1 verse 29 king David remembered that God was with him in every tribulation. God sometimes allow his children to go through hard times to make them grow spiritually but He never leaves them or forsake them.
God allows hard times to happen for us to grow spiritually, but He never forsakes us.
