Forcing the material and skipping steps will make the job faster, and much safer.

If a machine is not working properly, turn off the machine, unplug and wrap the cord around the machine and tell the teacher.   

Eye protection is worn at all times in the lab.

Crowd around and talk to the person working on the machine. 

Think through the operation and potential problems before using the machine. 

Wear appropriate clothing, tie back long hair, pull back sleeves, and remove any loose jewelry. 

Never remove a safety guard without your instructor’s approval.  

Always maintain the “Margin of Safety” specified for the machine.
