New World explorers wanted to increase the size of their country’s empire by finding new wealth for their home country. They were curious about how the Indians found so much gold and silver. As a reward for leading them to the gold, the explorers helped the Indians become Christians.
Explorers came to the New World for a variety of reasons. Some men came wanting to know more about the land.
