My First Fried Rice

ORIENTATION

I loved cooking lately. It was because I always helped my mom in the kitchen. My mom was an enterpreneur. She ran a small restaurant specially serving sea food as the main menu. I also liked to help her cooking shrimps, squids, octopuses, clamps, and many others. Beside all those dishes, I was very fond of making fried rice, a special fried rice. And this was a story of my first experience when I made my first fried rice. It happened last year, when I had more time at home due to the pandemic.

SERIES OF EVENTS

First, I prepared all the ingredients. I set aside a plate of rice, some kinds of seafood, and spices. The spices were red chili, onion, garlic, salt, and a bit fried shrimp paste. Then I ground all the spices. After that, I sauted the ground spices until it smelled fragrant. Next I put in the diced cut seafood. After a while, I added the rice into the frying pan and stirred it well. To make sure, I tasted the fried rice. When it tasted unwell yet, I added some other ingredients to make a balanced taste.. I usually combined it with soy sauce and a bit tomato sauce. When the taste was perfect, I put out the stove and then prepared the fried rice in a big plate. To make it fresher, I usually completed it with slices of vegetables, such as tomatoes or cucumbers. I served it with an ommelette and some chips. Then I hurried to my mom. I asked her to taste my seafood fried rice.

RE-ORIENTATION

Did you know how my mom’s comment was? “Wow, It’s so delicious! I can sell it as a new menu in our restaurant.” My mom said to me genuinely. I was so proud of myself. I was happy to be able to create such a delicious simple dish. I promised to train my skill in cooking so that later I could contimue my family business. That was a real impressing moment in my life. I was so pleased and eager to learn more. I loved cooking.

A Trip to the Zoo

Yesterday my family and I went to the zoo to see the elephant. When we got to the zoo, we went to the shop to buy some food to give to the animals.

After getting the food, we went to the nocturnal house where we saw birds and reptiles which only come out at night.

Before having lunch, we went for a ride on the elephant. It was a thrill to ride it. Dad fell off when he let go off the rope, but he was ok.

During the lunch we fed some birds in the park. In the afternoon we saw the animals being fed.

When we returned home we were very tired but happy. It was because we had so much fun activities at many places at the zoo.
