Last year, I went to Derawan Island for a holiday. I went to the Island with my friends. It was my first time on this island. The trip took about three hours from my hometown. We went by car for two hours and by speedboat for an hour.

As we arrived on the Island, we came to the villa and took a break until afternoon. In the night, we went to a famous restaurant. We ate lots of seafood, such as grilled lobster, boiled clams, and grilled fish. Then, we visited the traditional market on the island. There are lots of souvenirs are sold in the market. My friend bought some necklaces made of sea snail shells. I also bought a lot of the island’s famous food, namely ant nest cakes made from rice flour. The cake tastes sweet and crispy, perfect for enjoying with coffee or tea in the afternoon. The next day, my friends and I went to the beach near the villa. We tried to play a banana boat. It was so much fun. My friends also tried to dive to see the underwater beauty. The coral reefs in the waters are exquisite and colorful. After that, we returned to the villa to get ready to go home. At noon, my friends and I were getting ready to board the speedboat. On the way to Tanjung Batu pier, I saw a green turtle swimming. It was my first experience saw turtles. Finally, my friend and I arrived at the Tanjung Batu pier and continued our journey by car.

Even though it was a brief holiday, it was a memorable experience for me. I hope I can go to the island again.
