How will you enter the classroom?
Calmly walk into the room, get my sketchbook from my basket, and go straight to the my seat.

To practice new techniques, sketch new ideas, take notes, and plan your project.
A sketchbook is where you create your finished art projects.
A sketchbook is where you show what you've learned.
You don't really need a sketchbook.
Where do you keep sketchbooks and works in progress?
I keep them in my basket. It is my responsibility to keep track of my work and keep my name on it.
I just leave it on the table. Mrs. Recco will put it away for me.
I leave it on top of the baskets because I don't have time to put things away.
I just throw it anywhere. If it gets lost, it gets lost.
What happens at clean-up time?
Stop working and put supplies back where they belong. Clean up and sit back down at your table.
Go to the door and stand looking out into the hallway to see if your friends are out there.
Go to the bathroom because it's the end of class.
Keep working until the bell, then start cleaning up or just leave.
What happens if a center is left messy?
That center will not be available for class the next time.
Ms. Recco will clean it up.
The custodians will clean it up.

Why do we have to take care of art supplies? Aren't they free?
Art supplies are limited resources and it is our responsibility to conserve them for future use.
Ms. Recco has more art supplies so we can tear them up.
I can bring my own art supplies so it's OK to destroy or not care for them.
I don't like cleaning so I don't have to clean up.
Why do we have to document our progress?
Your progress slides are how you demonstrate that you have used the Artistic Thinking Process and have developed your idea fully.
Your progress slides are where you practice new techniques and make art.
Your progress slides are where you practice the 8 Studio Habits of Mind.
Your progress slides are where you go to find tutorial videos to watch and practice on your own time.
When can we use Chromebooks?
You can use a chromebook when you need to do research, practice new techniques with a tutorial, or work on your slides.
You can get a chromebook when you enter the room and use it for the entire class.
You can only use chromebooks on B days.
Chromebooks will be locked up all the time.
Why doesn't Ms. Recco just have us all do the same project at the same time?
Because artists don't all make the same art.
Because Ms. Recco is really lazy and doesn't want to write lesson plans.
Because art isn't a real subject so it doesn't matter what we do.
Because making the same art projects would be really boring.
