The main events of a story arranged in five stages

First plot stage: the characters, setting, and conflict are introduced

Second plot stage: tension and excitement increase, conflict builds, and things get complicated

Third plot stage: the turning point or most exciting part of the story

Fourth plot stage: the outcome of the climax is revealed, tension decreases

Fifth plot stage: the outcome of the story is revealed
