The setting of a stormy and gloomy day impacts Victor in an unusual way.

Since it was raining and lightning Victor was forced to spend the night in the cold.

Victor wanted to visit the spot where William had been murdered prior to the funeral.

The setting of the rocky mountains allowed the creature to escape and not face Victor.
