Hanuman crosses the ocean (read story to answer the questions):

Once upon a time, Hanuman was on a mission to find Sita, who had been kidnapped by the evil king Ravana. To reach Ravana’s kingdom, Lanka, Hanuman had to cross a vast ocean.

As he was flying over the ocean, a hungry monster named Surasa rose from the waters. She opened her mouth wide to block Hanuman’s path1. Hanuman politely asked her to let him go, but Surasa refused. She was actually a snake maiden and the gods had sent her to test Hanuman.

Seeing no other way, Hanuman came up with a clever plan. He first grew in size, matching Surasa who also opened her mouth wider. Then, he quickly shrank and flew in and out of Surasa’s mouth.

He said, “I have fulfilled your wish, now let me complete my mission.” Surasa, pleased with Hanuman’s cleverness and determination, changed back into her original form and replied, "My son, I’m Surasa, the snake maiden. The gods had sent me to test you. Go ahead; your mission will be successful."
