Presenter: So you famously dropped out of university. Can you tell us a little more about that?

Jo: Yeah, sure. Well, back in the 90s, I was doing a degree in business management at the London School of Economics. I'd actually earned a ​ (a)   to study there based on my academic performance at ​ (b)   school. My grades meant could pretty much choose which university to go to, but LSE was the only university who offered to pay for part of my course - so they seemed like a good option.

Jo: Yes, that's right. Every morning, on my way to ​ (b)   , I'd walk over Westminster Bridge and past Big Ben… it was definitely an inspiring place to study, that's for sure.

Jo: Er, yes. They were interesting, but actually I found the ​ (d)   far more useful. I used to love having in-depth discussions about the details of business management! Sad, I know…

Presenter: Ha ha! Not at all. But, in the end, you didn't actually ​ (a)   ? What happened?

Jo: No, I never finished the course. In our third year, we had to do a work experience placement. It was a chance to gain some ​ (b)   experience and learn a bit of the practical side of managing a firm. I spent three months working under Karen Barton at Barton Technology.

Presenter: Wow, I bet that was a great opportunity.

Jo: Yes, too good in fact. Karen felt I had great potential and offered me a job. That was six years ago and now I'm a partner!
