Dear Karl,

I spoke with Judy a few days ago about some problems she is having. I wanted to let you know because you are her project team leader.

Judy enjoys working with you and the team. She finds the project very interesting, but she feels a little lost and doesn’t see the big picture yet. You have given her freedom to do her tasks, which is normal in your branch. However, in her Tokyo office, she usually gets more direction from her manager. Because of this, she finds the international project a bit difficult.

She also told me that after the recent changes to the project timeline, her deadlines have moved. She is not sure why these changes happened. At the same time, she still has to finish work for her department in Tokyo, so she feels under pressure.

To help her, maybe we can give her more clear instructions for now, until she feels more confident working independently. It might also help if you explain more about how her role fits in the team and the overall project. At your next team meeting, could you talk about the group and individual goals? This could help everyone, especially Judy, understand how their work connects to the big goal.

It might also be good to check in with her from time to time to make sure she knows about any new changes to the plan. I’ll contact her manager in Tokyo to check if they know about her deadlines and if they can adjust her other work to make things easier for her.

Judy is a very responsible and hardworking person. I think she has great potential and could be a strong member of our international projects with the right support. I’d like to hear your thoughts and any ideas you have to help Judy feel more comfortable on the team.

However, the biggest challenge for many users is charging. Some people say that finding a charging station is still more difficult than finding a petrol station.
