Sandra’s sport blog

Today, I’m writing about my favourite sports stars.

Eighteen-year-old Alina Zagitova is from Russia and she’s amazing at ice skating. She’s really cool! She skates beautifully and she can jump really well. Her dad is an ice hockey coach so that’s probably why she loves skating. She doesn’t live with her parents and sister because she has to train in Moscow with her coach, Eteri Tutberidze. She lives there with her grandmother. Alina often wins competitions and I hope she’s in the Russian team at the next Olympics®.

Jadon Sancho is an English football player, but at the moment he’s living in Germany. He plays for Borussia Dortmund team there and he plays for the England team, too. His favourite football player is Ronaldinho and he wants to play like him. I think he’s an exciting player because he’s quick and kicks the ball hard and fast. He loves listening to rap music, like me, and in his free time he’s learning German so he can talk to the other players in his team. Brilliant! I’m his number one fan.

Denis Shapovalov is a Canadian tennis player and his nickname (the name his friends call him) is Shapo. He’s a strong player and this season he’s playing really well. His mum has got a tennis school in Ontario and she’s one of his coaches (he’s got two). When Shapo goes home, he trains at her school. Usually, he trains in Toronto. He can speak two languages – English and Russian – and he likes playing video games.

1    Alina’s father …

a)

b)

lives in Moscow.

c)

teaches ice hockey.
