During this phase, the complex of DNA and proteins contained in the nucleus, known as chromatin, condenses. The chromatin coils and becomes increasingly compact, resulting in the formation of chromosomes.

This phase is defined as the stage wherein the Spindle Fibers aligns the Chromosomes in the middle of the cell.

This process involves the pulling of Chromosomes into the different sides of the cell.

During this phase, the chromosomes begin to decondense and the spindle fibers breaks down. A new nuclear envelope, and nuclear membrane re-forms.
