I am not from Ibaraki. I’m from another prefecture in Japan. Let me give you some hints. This prefecture is famous for a unique dialect. People often end their sentences with ‘と’. For example: 何しとると？

Also, we are very proud of our rich, creamy tonkotsu ramen. Can you guess where I was born and raised?

I used to be into playing the piano, especially during the pandemic. I practiced almost every day for over two years. But now, I’m a runner. I started training for marathons when I was a junior in university. I’ve visited Okinawa twice and Kochi once—only for marathons!

I haven’t traveled to many foreign countries in my life, but I’ve had some meaningful experiences abroad.
When I was a freshman in university, I joined an educational project organized by Fukuoka Prefecture and visited several Southeast Asian countries, including Cambodia, Myanmar, Malaysia, and Singapore.
As part of the program, I often visited local schools and observed how they operate.
Later, I planned to go to Nepal in the spring of 2020, but the trip was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More recently, I spent three months in Shanghai, China, where I studied school management.

This year, I’m living a double life—as both a language teacher and a researcher!
