What an experience!

This was my first experience going to Karimunjawa. I went there with other winners from different schools, from April 21st to April 22nd. We enjoyed the sunset and we went snorkeling and swimming with sharks. Although It was a short holiday, we enjoyed ourselves. It was really fun.

Bali Starling

The Bali Starling is a rare bird that lives in Bali, Indonesia. It has white feathers, a short tail, and blue skin around its eyes. This bird is called Jalak Bali in Indonesian. It also called as Bali Myna. The Bali Starling eats fruits, seeds, and small insects. It is often found in the Bali Barat National Park. Many Bali Starlings were caught illegally in the past. Now, the bird is protected by the Indonesian government. People are working hard to save the Bali Starling from extinction. It is because Bali Starling has significant meaning in Balinese Culture. It is as symbol of pride, spirituality, and conservation.

Cendrawasihs or the birds of paradise are from the family of Paradisaeidae. These birds are easily recognized by their bright blue, yellow, scarlet, and green feathers. The males’ tails are longer than the females’. Their tails are known as wires or streamers. Birds of Paradise live in Eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Eastern Australia. The diet of these birds are fruits and arthropods. The natural devastation and illegal hunting make Cenderawasih an endangered species. Their reproduction cycle also makes the preservation diicult as they only produce one until two eggs.
