Plot Structure Flashcard

The climax is the most exciting, 'highest' point of the story where the main conflict reaches its peak.

Falling action is the part of the story that takes place after the climax and prepares the story for its resolution.

An external conflict is a struggle between a character and an outside force, such as another character or nature.

An internal conflict is a struggle within a character, often involving emotions or decisions.

The two main types of conflict are external and internal.

The protagonists are the main characters in a story, often facing challenges or conflicts.

Exposition is the introduction of background information, including characters, setting, and the initial conflict.

Resolution is the part of the story where the conflicts are resolved and the story concludes.

Rising action is the series of events that lead up to the climax, building tension and developing the conflict.

The antagonist is a character or force that opposes the protagonist, creating conflict.
