What is a fact family?

A fact family is a group of related math facts that use the same numbers. For example, the numbers 3, 7, and 21 can create the facts: 3 x 7 = 21, 7 x 3 = 21, 21 ÷ 7 = 3, and 21 ÷ 3 = 7.
