Skeletal System

The vertebral column is made up of vertebrae.

The center of your skeleton is the vertebral column.

The ends of bones are covered with cartilage.

Gas exchange is not a function of the skeletal system.

Legs and arms are examples of a Ball and Socket Joint.

The primary functions of the skeletal system include providing shape and support, enabling movement, and protecting vital organs.

Cartilage is a flexible connective tissue found at the ends of bones and in joints.

Ligaments are strong bands of connective tissue that connect bones to other bones.

Tendons are strong connective tissues that attach muscles to bones.

The periosteum is a dense layer of vascular connective tissue that covers the bones.
