Place Value Pretest

Place value is the value of a digit based on its position in a number. For example, in the number 345, the digit 3 is in the hundreds place, so its value is 300.

To round a number to the nearest ten thousand, look at the thousands digit. If it is 5 or more, round up; if it is 4 or less, round down.
