What should be checked at the front of the truck?

Check for leaks under the truck, not leaning, sagging, or tilted, clearance lights are Amber in color and on each side of the roof. Point to headlights, high and low beams clear in color, properly mounted, no bolts missing, not cracked bent or broken. Point to signal lights, 4-way flashers, and running lights, Amber in color, properly mounted, no bolts missing, not cracked bent or broken.

Right Side of Engine General Hoses and Wires

General Appearance: Hoses/Clamps properly mounted at both ends. No abrasions, bulges, or cuts, and not leaking. All clamps in place. No burnt or bare wires visible.

Engine Compartment

Belt Driven Alternator: Properly mounted, no bolts missing. Not cracked, bent, or broken. All wires connected. Serpentine belt properly seated in pulley, not frayed or damaged. No more than 1/2 to 3/4 inch of play.

Exhaust System: Properly mounted, no bolts missing, joints look good, no carbon or black soot visible. No signs of leaks.

General Appearance: hoses/clamps properly mounted at both ends. No abrasions, bulges, or cuts, and not leaking. All clamps in place. No burnt or bare wires visible.

Washer Fluid Reservoir: Properly Mounted. No abrasions, bulges, or cuts. Not leaking. Filled to manufacturer specifications.

Oil Dip Stick: The oil level should be filled to the manufacturer specifications.

Belt Driven Water Pump: Properly mounted, no bolts missing. Not cracked, bent, or broken. Not leaking. The belt is not cracked or frayed, and the free play on the belt is between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch.

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir: Properly mounted, no bolts missing. All clamps and hoses present. Not cracked, bent or broken. Not leaking and filled to manufacturer specifications.
