1. Euclidian zoning is a separation of land use by type into specific areas of a city.  It caused traffic congestion, pollution, and segregation of residential areas based on wealth.

11. The Green Revolution was a selective breeding process to find higher yielding wheat crops in Mexico.  It was started by Norman Borlaug.

Name and describe 2 practices to improve agricultural sustainability.

11. Cover cropping- planting new crops in the same fields as cash crops after they’ve been harvested to stabilize the soil and filter runoff. 

12. Strip cropping- alternating cash crops with small grains across a field to slow water runoff. 

13. Contour farming- planting along curves of land to reduce fuel usage. 

14. Rotating crops- changing the crop planted in a specific field each season to recycle and replenish nutrients in the soil. 

15. Rotating livestock- rotating the areas grazed by livestock to prevent overgrazing.
