Dense outer layer of all bones. Lines the inside and outside of long bone. Made of osteons (living)

What is red bone marrow

Blood cell production (red, white, platelets, stem cells)

What's an epiphyseal plate (growth plate)

It is a band of cartilage between the epiphysis and diaphysis/

What does the epiphyseal line do

signifies the growth has stopped

1. inflammation 2. soft callus 3. hard callus 4. remodelling

Whats a strain vs a sprain

Strain: injury to muscle or tendon Sprains: Stretching or tearing of ligament when joint is stressed

Womenlose bone mass after menopaus, and me typically have hgher peak bone mass and slower bone loss.

Movement: angular along two axes metacarpals to the phalanges.

Movement: angular movements like condyloid but greater range connects clavicle to sternum.

movement : rotational movement as it moves around own axis connects radius and ulna

movement: sliding movement ribs to the vertebrae + sternum

Symtpoms of a broken bone and how do you care for someone

symptoms: pain, deformity swelling if open: cover wound with gentle pressure to stop bleeding and immobilize area with a splint if closed: apply cold pack to reduce swelling with a cloth and immobilize the person keeping them still.
