Calculating volume

Many times in landscaping you see length and width in feet, but depth is typically in inches. 

ALWAYS convert inches to feet first (divide by 12 because 12 inches= 1 foot). 

Then multiply your 3 numbers (L x W x H). 

If it asks you for cubic yards instead of feet (most ot the time), divide by 27 (3 feet = 1 yard and 3x3x3=27).
