Mrs. Cooney went to Montclair State University and majored in English.
She also received a teaching degree while she was there for grades 6-12.

This is Mrs. Cooney's 4th year teaching at RBMS.
Some of you may know her from when she taught SOAR ELA or from coaching cross country. But to some of you, she may be a brand new face!

Mrs. Cooney's most favorite teacher is Mrs. Szczurek, who she had in Kindergarten.
Mrs. S. is the reason that Mrs. Cooney became a teacher. She actually retired from the Primary School last year!

Ms. Fox is Mrs. Darling's most favorite teacher, who she had in 5th grade.
She always made her feel comfortable in the classroom. She built relationships with all of her students and gave us the most enjoyable 5th grade experience.

Mrs. Cooney lives with her husband, Tom, and her 4-month old daughter, Addison.
They don't have any pets.

Mrs. Darling lives with her husband, Phil, and her almost 3-year old son, Logan.
She also has a dog named Gambit, who is 5 years old.

When she's not teaching, Mrs. Cooney enjoys spending time with family, going to the beach, and running to relieve stress.

When she's not teaching, Mrs. Darling enjoys spending time outdoors with her son.
They enjoy going to the beach, nature walks, the park, or just hanging in their backyard.

When she was your age, Mrs. Cooney was super shy.
She did not like to raise her hand to participate in class or get up in the front of the room to speak. This is very ironic since she chose teaching as her career!

She made sure to always be herself and enjoy her time still being a kid without worrying about "grown up" things.

Mrs. Cooney grew up in RED BANK!
She attended both the Primary School and Red Bank Regional. She loves this town and all its attractions (parks, restaurants, etc.)

She enjoyed growing up on the same block as her best friends, where they could run around and hang out with each other outside as one big family.

When she was younger, Mrs. Cooney wanted to be a marine biologist.
She wanted to be one of these because she loved going to the beach and she was very interested in sea animals.

When she was younger, Mrs. Darling wanted to be a teacher.
She wanted to be a teacher because she loved "playing school" with her chalkboard.

Mrs. Cooney's favorite book is "Tuck Everlasting" by Natalie Babbit.
She likes this book because of its great use of symbolism and imagery. It used to be one of her favorite books to teach at her previous school.

Mrs. Darling's favorite book is "Flowers in the Attic" by V. C. Andrews.
She remembers reading the book with her mom as a young teen, followed by watching the movie. The story captivated her and was always something she remembered.
