Orange Arrows

  • We keep germs out of our body by wearing a mask

  • Another way we keep germs out of our body is staying 6 feet away from others.

  • In our school there are orange arrows on the floor.

  • The arrows tell us where to walk so we can keep a safe distance from each other.

Follow the arrow game

  • Stand up

  • I am going to read a story about a student named Anthony who is not following the lab safety rules.

  • As I read the story, orange arrows will pop up and you have to turn the direction it tells you to.

  • Let us see how well you are able to follow the arrow's directions.

Anthony's class was working on a science experiment about what happens if they mix together baking soda and vinegar.

Because Anthony did not listen to the teacher's directions, he did not know what to do in the lab.  He saw a beaker with a white powder and was not sure if it was baking soda so he tasted it.

Anthony put some baking soda in the beaker.  He did not know how much to pour in (because he did not listen to the directions) so he poured in the whole box.

Anthony grabbed the vinegar and poured it into the beaker with the baking soda.  It exploded all over the place and all over Sarah.

Anthony told Sarah not to tell the teacher because he did not want to get into trouble.  He left the class early so he would not have to clean up the mess.
