Multiple Choice

Question image

Why do you think

ABC\angle ABC  and  ABD\angle ABD are not adjacent angles?

1

They do not have a common vertex

2

They do not have a common side

3

They have common interior points

4

All of these

4

Multiple Choice

Question image

Why do you think

DOC\angle DOC  and  BOA\angle BOA are not adjacent angles?

1

They do not have a common vertex

2

They do not have a common side

3

They have common interior points

4

All of these

5

Linear Pair

Two angles form a linear pair if they are adjacent and their non-common sides are opposite rays.

∠1 and ∠2;  ∠3 and ∠4;     and   ∠5 and ∠6 are all examples of linear pairs

Multiple Choice

Question image

Why are ∠AOC and ∠BOD not a linear pair?

1

They do not contain opposite rays.

2

They are not adjacent.

3

They are not angles.

4

They are congruent

7

Vertical Angles

Two non-adjacent angles formed by intersecting lines.
∠ACB and ∠ECD are vertical angles
so are ∠BCE and ∠DCA

Complementary and Supplementary Angles

Complementary angles are 2 angles whose measures have a sum of 90 degrees  ex: ∠BXC & ∠CXD
Supplementary angles are 2 angles whose measures have a sum of 180 degrees ex: ∠AXB & ∠BXD

13

Multiple Choice

True or False: Supplementary angles must form a linear pair.

1

True

2

False

14

Supplementary Angles

Notice the angles with the p and the q, they are supplementary, but not adjacent.
