Study the meaning of the words 

  • Eight – /eɪt/ - the product of two and four; one more than seven, or two less than ten; 8

  • Eighth – /eɪtθ/ - contains number eight in a sequence; 8th.

  • Eighty – /ˈeɪti/ - equivalent to the product of eight and ten; ten less than ninety; 80.

  • Weight – /weɪt/ - The heaviness of a person or thing.

  • Neighbour – /ˈneɪbə/ - a person living next door to or very near to the speaker or person referred to.

  • Vein – /veɪn/ - any of the tubes forming part of the blood circulation system of the body, carrying in most cases oxygen-depleted blood towards the heart.

  • Veil – /veɪl/ - a piece of fine material worn by women to protect or conceal the face.

  • Beige – /beɪʒ,beɪdʒ/ - a pale sandy fawn colour.

  • Sleigh – /sleɪ/ - a sledge drawn by horses or reindeer, especially one used for passengers.

  • Freight – /freɪt/ - goods transported in bulk by truck, train, ship, or aircraft.

  • Palaeolithic – /ˌpalɪə(ʊ)ˈlɪθɪk,ˌpeɪlɪə(ʊ)ˈlɪθɪk/ - relating to or denoting the early phase of the Stone Age, lasting about 2.5 million years, when primitive stone implements were used.

  • Neolithic - /ˌniːə(ʊ)ˈlɪθɪk/ - relating to or denoting the later part of the Stone Age, when ground or polished stone weapons and implements prevailed.
