Rounding off numbers to the nearest 10s,100s,1000s

Basic rules

  • Numbers 0 to 4 are rounded off to the previous 10,100,1000.

  • Numbers 5 to 9 are rounded off to the succesive 10,100,1000.

  • Always use the previous number to the one rounded off. E.g.-round off to nearest 10 see the units place.round off to nearest 100 see the tens place.round off to nearest 1000 see the hundreds place.
