ICT1 - Communications: Lesson 1 Vocabulary

Internet

A very large network of networks. Connects millions of devices globally using TCP/IP.

Client

A client is a single user computer

IP Address

The unique numerical number assigned to each device that is attached to the internet. Ex. 12.345.678.910

DNS (Domain Name System)

Connects the IP address (ex. 12.345.678.910) of a website with its common URL (ex. google.com).

Cloud

A cloud is storage space on the Internet that anyone can use or access.
