Perfect refers to completeness. So Perfect tense or perfect aspect of verb means that whatever action we are talking about is complete. It means that action we are talking about is complete prior to the present moment.

How to form Present Perfect Sentences
Affirmative: S + have/has + past participle Eg: I have tried skiing before.
Negative: S + have/has + not + past participle. Eg: She has not spoken earlier.
Interrogative: Have/Has + S + past participle. Eg: Have you every danced before?

Usage:
Things you have done in your life. Eg: I have been to Rajasthan.
Number of times you have done something. Eg: I have tried this game many times.
Recently completed action. Eg: I have already done my job.
Situations that started in the past and are still true. Eg: I have known him for long.

Usage:
Present result. Eg: He just missed his bus by few seconds.
Unfinished actions or situations. Eg: I have lived here since 2000
