Types of Tenses

There are 3 main types of verb tenses:

1 Simple Present Tense

2 Simple Past Tense

3 Simple Future Tense

Simple Present Tense

The Simple Present Tense is used for facts, generalizations, and truths that are not affected by the passage of time.

Verbs indicating the Present tense either end in -s or -es.


Example:

It rains every afternoon in the hot season..


Water freezes at zero degrees.

Simple Past Tense

The simple past tense is used to describe a completed activity that happened in the past. In other words, it started in the past and ended in the past.

Example:

The Martians landed near the aqueduct.

The burglar considered using the fire escape.

Using the Simple Past Tense, write 1 thing/activity you did earlier but are unable do because of the Lockdown.

Simple Future Tense

Simple Future Tense is used for events to be completed in the future. The word will or shall is used to indicate the probability of an action being done, either in the immediate future or later.


For example:

I will go to the mall later.

He shall eat once he goes home.
