Parallelism

In grammar, it is sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure. It will have the same number of words or it will have repetitive instances of the same part of speech (noun, verb, adverb, adjective, etc.)

It may have the same structure on either side of a semi colon ;

For example: He was very quiet, very smart, and very athletic.

We laughed in the beginning; we cried in the end.

Jane, John, Emily, and Mark all did not study, all did not listen, all did not pass.

Adjective Clauses

An appositive is a group of words added to a sentence that gives more detail about the noun. It is always started and ended with a comma.

For example:

Mr. Mark, the math teacher, is nice. We learn that Mr. Mark is a math teacher.


Jose, a huge Cowboys fan, cheered loudly at the game.


Mariah, a Sophomore, was a talented singer.
