What is sensory language?
Sensory language is used in stories by the authors so the story can sound interesting. Authors include sensory language in their writing to help the reader engage with the story and paint a picture in their head by appealing to the five senses.

Our Five Senses
The author includes sensory language related to our senses (smell, sight, hear, taste, touch).
Sensory language is descriptive.
Sensory language helps us paint a picture (imagery) in our head about what we are reading.
