EXPANDED FORM

When we write a number as a sum of place value of its digits, the number is said to be in expanded form.

Ex- The expanded form of 7861 = 7000+800+60+1

SHORT FORM

When we write a number using digits, the number is said to be in short form.

EX- The short form of 4000 +300+20+6= 4326
