• Validation make sure data is sensible and possible, but

• It cannot ensure the data entered is correct

• Verification is ways to (help) ensuring the data are correctly entered

• but verification do not confirm if the data is sensible or not, nor guarantees the accuracy of data

This is very annoying to do, but why the website designer ask you to do this?

Double Entry

• Ask user to enter data twice

• Computer checks to see if both entries match

• If not match, prompt to enter again

Verification checks

• Double Entry (prev slide)

• Twin Entry: Where two users enter the same data separately. Computer checks if the data match or not

• Proofreading: User enters the data and second user double check to confirm it is correct
