GROUP DISCUSSIONS
Room 1 : Discuss the job of a fruit
Room 2 : Discuss why seeds must be dispersed
Room 3: Discuss what will happen if all the seeds grew next to the parent plant.
5
FRUIT
A fruit has two jobs.
1: to protect the seeds inside.
2. to help spread the seeds.
6
Why seeds must be dispersed.
All plants need water, sun, and space in order to grow. A seed cannot get the things it needs to grow if it falls immediately below its parent because its parent is already using the resources in that location. Therefore, seeds need to get to a new location in order to find the resources necessary for growth.
7
Why seeds must be dispersed.
This relocation is called dispersal. Seeds lack the fundamental structures and innovations animals use to move from one place to another, such as legs or wings.
8
Next lesson we shall discuss about how seeds are dispersed.
