Multiples

  • Multiples a re numbers that can be divided by another number without a remainder

  • Ex. Multiples of 5 would be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, etc.

Factors

  • A factor is a number that divides into another number without leaving a remainder

  • Ex.: 15, 15 can be divided by 1, 3 5, 1and 5, so 3 and 5 are factors of 15

  • Ex.: What are factors of 10?

  • 10 can be divided by 1, 2, 5, and 10. Therefore, 1, 2, 5, and 10 are factors of 10.

Primes

  • Primes can be defined as numbers that only have 2 factors. Most primes have factors that are 1 and itself.

  • Ex. 2, 3, 5, 7, and 11 are primes because they can ony be divided by 1 and itself.
