So how did people live during the Paleolithic Era?
People were nomadic.
People hunted, fished, and foraged for food.
People lived in small groups of less than one hundred.

At some point in the past, people learned how to farm. This drastically changed the way people lived.

The transition of societies from hunting and gathering to farming is called the Neolithic Revolution.

So what changed during the Neolithic Revolution?
People discovered farming.
Social classes developed (i.e. rich and poor).
Animals were domesticated.
People began to settle down and build cities.

The 5 Factors of Civilization (a sign of things to come)
Large cities will create a need for government.
People's spirituality will create a need for an organized religion.
Big cities will create a need for architecture and public works like roads and bridges.
People's interest in money will create the need for trade. Trade allows for the exchange of not only goods but also ideas.
