The Yemassee
The Yemassee Native Americans lived in the Coastal Zone near the Georgia border.
Yemassee used grass, bark, and palmetto leaves to build their summer shelters. The summer shelters were called wigwams. Winter shelters were called wattle and daub houses and were made from mud and clay.
Yemassee built canoes, fished for clams and oysters, and farmed. They used animal skins for clothing.
