When do I multiply exponents?!

• When raising a power to another power

• You notice this when you have an expression with exponents inside of a parenthesis, and an exponent outside the parenthesis that applies to THE WHOLE EXPRESSION

Applying an exponent to the whole parenthesis

• Each base inside takes on the exponent

• If there are exponents on the bases inside, they get multiplied by the outer exponent
