What is Identity v. Role Confusion?
This stage that we are learning about this week is apart of the same 5th stage you learned last week
In society now, the adolescent stage is lasting longer, well into the 20s
Overall in your future studies you will likely see the stage referred to as identity vs role confusion
It's connected to both group and individual identity that occurs during early and late adolescents.
Last chapter we focused on group identity & this week the focus will be on individual identity

5
What is Identity v. Role Confusion?
On the Identity side of this psychological conflict, teens/young adults who can form a strong sense of who they are will feel more in control of their lives and act more independently.
However, if a person ending their teenage/young adult years still suffers from role confusion—unsure of who they are and how they fit into society—they will remain as adults confused and insecure about themselves, depending on others for much of their lives.

cliques
social media
overbearing parents
academics
& much more to become a specific individual.
