What does it mean to find the Midpoint?

If you are asked to find the midpoint of two coordinates you must find the half way mark between your two x points and y points.

Find the midpoint of (2,5) and (4,7)

Half way between 2 and 4 is 3
Half way between 5 and 7 is 6

Finding the gradient from two points

If you are given two points (1,3) and (2,6) and you are asking to find the gradient. 

 $\frac{Minus\ the\ two\ y\ values}{Minus\ the\ two\ x\ values}$  

ALWAYS START FROM THE RIGHT

 $\frac{6-3}{2-1}=\frac{3}{1}=3$ 

Finding the gradient from two points

If you are given two points (-3,-4) and (2,6) and you are asking to find the gradient. 

 $\frac{Minus\ the\ two\ y\ values}{Minus\ the\ two\ x\ values}$  

ALWAYS START FROM THE RIGHT

 $\frac{6--4}{2--3}=\frac{10}{5}=2$
