SEX DETERMINATION

Human beings have 46 chromosomes in each cell. The males have XY sex chromosomes, whom produce gametes with X and Y chromosome, while females have the XX chromosomes. The sex of a child is determined by the type of chromosome he/she is receiving from the father. If sperm carries the X chromosome, then the child will be a girl, while a sperm that carries Y chromosome will be a boy.
