Use the tree method like on the right.


Circle your pairs like the 3s and that number goes on the outside.


The numbers you do not circle like 2 and 3 get multipled and remain on the inside

  • In this example you have a pairs of 3s and a pair of 2s

  • You would multiply 2 and 3 together to get 5

  • There is one 2 that would not be paired up so that remains on the inside.
