  • The number or variable in front of the parenthesis should be multiplied by EVERYTHING inside the parenthesis.

  • The answers should then be added or subtracted depending on what sign is in between the numbers.

  • Letters in an equation take the place of an unknown number

  • YOU CAN'T ADD NUMBERS AND LETTERS TOGETHER

  • Numbers next to each other like this 2(3) means the numbers are multiplying
