add "ed"

eg: kick -> kicked

for words end with e, add "d"

eg: promise -> promised

for words end with y, change y to i

eg: cry -> cried

Irregular Past Tense

No fixed patterns

eg:

write -> wrote

draw -> drew

eat -> ate

wake -> woke

buy -> bought

teach -> taught

sell -> sol
